‘Have your say’: The Beckenham Academy Free School – Consultation period extended until February

December 14, 2015

Our Trust, behind The Beckenham Academy (TBA), is consulting on the desirability of this new free school. Have your say by responding to the consultation letter. The consultation period which has begun has been extended until 5th February to allow all stakeholders to consider their views and responses.

The Trust now owns the former Co-Op site in Balmoral Avenue, which is the proposed location for TBA. Whilst ownership of the land is not subject to planning permission, we now have to gain planning consent for the construction of the school. So we will now enter a period of formal planning consultation where all interested parties will have the opportunity to pledge their support and air their concerns for the construction of the school. We would very much appreciate your continued support during this process.

We will be holding a meeting with the local community over the coming months and will keep you updated on when this will be, so you can attend. There will also be meetings organised by the London Borough of Bromley and again your support would be most welcome. In the mean time we encourage you to express your support to your local ward councillors who has been advised of our hopes and aspirations for the site.

The aim of our Trust is to encourage children to be ‘The best they can be’ and our new school will enable our students to thrive with the fantastic plans for the facilities. There is an extra demand and need for schooling in the Bromley borough and our new school is one way to reach the Borough’s target for 2020.

If you have any queries regarding educational issues, please contact The Beckenham Academy directly.

Please do keep an eye on our Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages where updates will be provided.
