I am delighted to be appointed as CEO designate for E21C and I am very much looking forward to taking up the reigns in January 2020.
Believe it or not, I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the recruitment process and getting to meet a small number of staff and young people. Thank you to everyone involved for making me feel so welcome. Of course, I’m excited about meeting more of you, including parents and governors, learning more about your ambition for our schools and developing plans to ensure that we can deliver a first class education for everyone in our care.
My experience to date has seen me in a variety of leadership roles within schools in and around North London. A National Leader of Education and the founding CEO of a small Trust in Haringey I know what it takes to deliver good schools and I am passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people.
I am under no illusion about how hard our staff work already. It is a privilege to work in education, to serve the needs of children and I am determined to make our schools great places in which to learn and work.
There is great ambition amongst the Trustees, the Central Team and headteachers to make this a group of schools that can offer more collectively, than we can working in isolation. I’m excited by the prospect of working alongside the acting CEO in the first instance and then from January, leading the Trust into the next phase of its development, to deliver on some clear promises to our schools and our young people.
I very much look forward to meeting you.
