Science Week at Scotts Park Primary

Science Week at Scotts Park Primary

Last week, Scotts Park Primary hosted a range of activities in celebration of Science Week, centred around the theme of 'connections'. The week began with a school-wide assembly, followed by a whole school home learning task from the BSW primary pack, with entries due to be submitted at the end of the month. Students were also encouraged to create posters on the theme of connections in science.

Throughout the week, various enrichment activities were scheduled for different year groups, with some continuing into this week. Years 1 and 4 were visited by the Wriggly Wild Show, where they learned about the connections between animals and their habitats, as well as food chains. Students were able to interact with the animals up close, and feedback from both pupils and parents was highly positive. Photos of the event were also shared.

This week, the remaining year groups will have a visit from Shooting Stars Circus, where they will explore the connections between forces and circus skills and equipment. In addition to these activities, students were also able to participate in live lessons and complete science activities from the BSW primary science pack. For example, Year 5 engaged in a hands-on investigation into building paper bridges, exploring the connections between weights, forces, and measurement.
