Parents launch petition in support of Eden Park High School
Local parents and residents have launched a petition to back the opening of Eden Park High School, in time for the next academic year in September 2017.
Although Bromley’s Planning Officers recommended permission be given for Eden Park High School’s to open on a temporary site at Ravensbourne School, Councillors deferred a decision at a committee meeting on Thursday 28 July. This decision could unnecessarily delay the opening of the school, which means that parents of Year 7 children hoping to start at the school in 2017 will be disappointed.
The school’s Trust, Education for the 21st Century (E21C) is appealing against the decision to defer the opening of the temporary site and Bromley parents have decided to launch this petition in support of Eden Park High School. The organisers of the petition say, “Our children deserve the best education they can get, and Eden Park High School will provide much needed extra secondary school places in Bromley. The demand for the new school is undeniable. The Council itself has identified that there is an acute need for new schools in Bromley, especially in the North West of the Borough, the proposed permanent location for the Eden Park High School.”
