We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge well done to one of the students at our member school The Ravensbourne School, Joe Phillips. Joe is currently competing in the Rotax Max European Challenge with UK Based team KR-Sport, with a goal of becoming European champion and making it to the Rotax Grand Finals this year.

A keen kart racer and member of Year 9 at TRS, Joe has been exceeding expectations and racing brilliantly during the last few weeks. Most recently Joe found himself finishing in second place in one of his qualifying heats after starting P2, from 50 drivers, in the first round of the European championships. Joe, alongside others from around the continent, took part in the race during the Easter break in Genk, Belgium. Not only did Joe finish second overall, but qualified in poll for the race by winning the introductory heats.

The second round of the competition is in Castelletto, Italy from the 5th-15th May and we wish Joe the very best of luck in his bid for success.  Joe currently sits 10th overall after round one, but feels confident in moving into the top five after round two.

Paul Murphy, CEO of E21C and Headteacher of The Ravensbourne School, said, “We are really proud of all Joseph’s achievements so far and we wish him all the best in his upcoming heats and competitions.”

To keep up with Joe’s progress we will be posting via The Ravensbourne School’s social media pages and sharing through E21C.
